Acura MDX Ramps up Production at Second Plant

Acura MDX

The MDX is one of the most popular models in Acura’s lineup, and to better meet the demands of customers, the brand has decided to produce the SUV at a second facility, the East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio.

Joining Acura’s RDX SUV, the MDX is the second Acura to be produced at the East Liberty Auto Plant. To prepare for its arrival, the facility purchased new welding equipment, extended vehicle conveyors and made a series of other adjustments that cost close to $85 million to carry out. Prior to the addition of the Ohio facility, the MDX was produced solely at Acura’s Alabama plant.

America’s best-selling three-row crossover SUV, the MDX, lands on the market again for 2017 model year with a new front end, a redesigned grille and new headlights. It also receives a slew of standard features, including auto high beams, AcuraWatch safety suite, an electronic parking brake, capless fueling and extra USB ports for charging devices. A few new options are also available, such as power-folding mirrors, a heated steering wheel, automatic locking, 20-inch wheels, and LED foglights.

Come see the 2017 Acura MDX in person today at Acura of Peoria. Take it for a test drive to experience its performance capabilities!
