The 2022 Acura MDX Prototype will get the familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with a 10-speed transmission. A sporty variant, Type S, is coming in the summer of 2021; it will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 and produce an estimated 355 horsepower, and 354 lb-ft of torque. Acura’s famed Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system will move the wheels.
While the current MDX is a head-turner in its own right, the 2022 model will demand even more attention on the road. It’ll share many exterior styling cues with the smaller Acura RDX. A new grille and headlights help give the SUV’s front fascia a powerful look. You’ll also notice the new MDX’s more chiseled body.
