Volunteers packing food and clothes

Nourish Phoenix Overview

For Nourish Phoenix, there has always been one cohesive vision for the charity since its establishment in the 1980s: to serve the working class people of Phoenix and surrounding areas. Call them what you will, be it angels or good Samaritans, Nourish Phoenix has improved the lives of the people they've served, and they've done it with a smile on their faces for over four decades.

Mission of Nourish Phoenix

The organization is composed of volunteers who want to make an impact on their communities. The working poor are an often overlooked part of poverty. People assume that if you have a job and work hard, you get somewhere in life or at the very least have the basics. Unfortunately, it's a sad fact that many people work hard and make very little for it. They struggle to pay bills, keep enough food on the table, or provide for the people they work so hard for. It's this hardworking group of people that Nourish Phoenix works tirelessly to help.

Special events and educational classes help Phoenix's disadvantaged citizens do more than get emergency clothing and food items. They're able to participate in monthly events and classes that teach them strategies for better money management and healthier eating habits. Eating a healthy diet is a principal goal of many people these days, as fast food has become cheaper and grocery items have skyrocketed in price. Nourish Phoenix helps people get tips on the foods that make for healthy eating and a healthy budget. Budgeting is a heavy focus on these educational courses as well. Food items are available all month long and give Phoenix citizens a place to turn when they need healthier foods. Emergencies happen. Nourish Phoenix helps people prepare, both with wisdom, food, and clothing, to meet the challenge.
