A team of Acura drivers placed at the IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona for the fifth consecutive year this January as the Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian #60 took second place.
Co-drivers Tom Blomqvist, Colin Braun, Scott Dixon, and Felix Rosenqvist started sixth on the grid and drove a total of 39 laps over 24 hours. They came just 1.335 seconds short of taking first place.
Also in the race was the #93 Acura ARX-06, which Nick Yelloly, Renger van der Zande, Alex Palou, and Kakunoshin Ohta drove. The #93 started strong and led early for 19 laps before a suspension failure forced the vehicle into the garage in the race's fifth hour. Despite the suspension issue, the Acura MSR and HRC team was able to get the car back on track in just one hour and make up valuable positions as other vehicles suffered from attrition during the race. In the end, the #93 team finished the race in 8th place.
In addition to the efforts made by the #60 and #93 teams, the Acura Integra Type S served as the official safety car for the event, and HRC global president Koji Watanabe waved the green flag as the honorary starter.
The strong showing of these teams during the 63rd running of the Rolex 24 race showed that Acura vehicles are a force to be reckoned with. If you're interested in owning an Acura vehicle, visit us today. Our staff will be happy to assist you and help you find the right vehicle for you.
