Honda driver and Honda Formula Dream Project graduate Kakunoshin Ohta is scheduled to compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the premier GTP class in 2025. He will participate as the fourth Acura Meyer Shank Racing driver with the Curb Agajanian team's No. 93 car. He will drive the Acura ARX-06, which was designed and developed by Honda Racing Corporation USA. Ohta is scheduled to compete in three races, including his debut in the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Kakunoshin Ohta is a relatively new driver who earned a scholarship at the Suzuka Circuit Racing School (now known as Honda Racing School Suzuka) in 2018. After graduating from the Honda Formula Dream Project (HFDP), Ohta began his racing career in 2023 in Japan's Super Formula and SUPER GT GT500 class.
In 2024, to prepare for his IMSA debut, Ohta began training using the new Driver-In-The-Loop Simulator at the HRC US facility in Indianapolis. Due to his performance in races in Japan, he was selected to participate in the 2025 season.
Ohta's participation in the 2025 season is part of Honda Racing Corporation's effort to nurture young racing drivers who aspire to compete in the world's top categories. The company hopes to continue supporting young drivers in Japan and worldwide.
