The NEXERA Vision Debuts at Monterey Car Week

Over the past 40 years, Acura has produced several iconic performance models. Recently unveiled at Monterey Car Week, the NEXERA Vision concept offers a glimpse of Acura's new design direction. This sleek supercar's bold exterior styling and fighter-jet-inspired cockpit definitely caught the attention of guests at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. It showcases some of the same eye-catching design elements that will debut on the next-generation RDX Hybrid. Here's an overview of the key highlights of the NEXERA Vision concept.

Performance-Inspired Exterior

The NEXERA Vision concept's low-slung, wide proportions create an especially powerful stance. It rides on a bold set of 22-inch center-lock wheels with a 3D directional design. Dual-hinge butterfly doors and Matte Titanium paint add to the car's striking appearance. Components such as the rear diffuser and rocker panels are constructed from forged carbon fiber. This stunning concept also features several active aerodynamic components, including an active rear spoiler for enhanced high-speed stability.

While the NEXERA Vision concept has several dramatic exterior features, its groundbreaking "Phantom Lighting" technology stole the show. The ultra-thin LED headlights and taillights look stunning when turned on, but they quickly disappear behind the coupe's bodywork when turned off. To the delight of Acura fans, Phantom Lighting will carry over to the next-generation RDX Hybrid.

Driver-Focused Cockpit

The interior of the NEXERA Vision concept is just as intriguing. To ensure a grounded racing position for the driver, designers fused the seats straight to the floor structure. There are no traditional rail mechanisms, thus saving weight and lowering the driver's center of gravity. As in a fighter jet, the pedals and steering wheel actually adjust toward the driver. The cabin also features sustainable materials like CircuLeather and recycled aluminum.
