Specs at a Glance

Acura offers one of today's top luxury SUV lineups. Some vehicle shoppers will ultimately be choosing between the 2026 Acura ADX and the 2026 Acura MDX. While the compact ADX is great for everyday commuting, drivers who regularly carry family and friends may need the three-row MDX's extra space. Let's take a closer look at how these two models compare.

Performance

The ADX features a 1.5-liter, turbocharged VTEC® four-cylinder engine. It satisfies drivers by producing 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. A continuously variable transmission helps promote maximum fuel efficiency. You can look forward to enjoying peppy acceleration and nimble handling. While front-wheel drive comes standard, advanced all-wheel drive is optional.

Underneath the MDX's hood rests a muscular 3.5-liter V6 engine. Acura rates it to develop 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. A quick-shifting, 10-speed automatic transmission optimizes performance. Rear-biased Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is available as well, which enhances traction and improves the SUV's cornering capabilities. While the ADX isn't recommended for towing, the MDX can confidently tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.

If you desire an exhilarating driving experience, consider the performance-inspired MDX Type S. Its turbocharged V6 engine delivers 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque, enabling blistering acceleration. An adaptive air suspension also comes equipped on the exciting MDX Type S. You can raise or lower the vehicle's ride height at the touch of a button.

Appearance

The ADX's premium styling gets a lot of attention. Its sleek exterior features several eye-catching treatments, including a bold Diamond Pentagon Grille and cool LED headlights. While even the entry-level ADX looks great, racy aesthetics and exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels give the A-Spec trim an especially aggressive appearance. Several striking paint color options are offered.

The MDX will cause just as many heads to turn. Like the ADX, it offers a racy A-Spec package. Quad exhaust outlets and an exclusive front fascia help set the mighty Type S trim apart.

Features

Some notable standard features of the ADX include wireless charging, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a high-resolution infotainment display, and dual-zone automatic climate control. An even greater number of upscale features come standard on the MDX, including a panoramic sunroof and Google built-in®.
