An Acura radio code is the number that you will need in order to start or restart the radio in your Acura. You may also need it just to unlock all of the features that your Acura has. You may also need to do this if you have to swap out your battery. Getting a jump start might require this as well.
Finding the Code
The first step to entering the code is to find it. If you're a Clovis customer through Acura, then you can find the five-digit code specific to the Acura radio in a few different places. The first is the anti-theft radio identification card. This will be in your owner's manual. You can also find this digit in places like a sticker in your glovebox. This sticker could also be in your trunk jamb or the door jamb.
The sticker will have two sets of numbers: the top one with five digits is for the radio, the other is a serial number. If you only have the serial number, you can often still get a code by calling your Acura Customer Service number. If you give them the serial number, they can give you a new radio code that should work. You can also often find your code in the maintenance journal for your vehicle. This is the document that tells you when you need to do repairs.
Inputting the Code
After you get the proper 5 digit code for your Acura, the next thing to do is to put it in so you can unlock the radio. First, you hit the power button on the radio unit. You'll know you've done it right when it says “CODE.”
Next, you just put in the numbers using the radio. This will spell out “code” letter by letter as you put the numbers in. Once you input the number, the radio should unlock, and then you'll have full access to it.
