Specs at a Glance

The 2022 Acura RDX is one of Acura's most popular models. Not only does this five-passenger crossover enable families to experience a luxurious ride, but it also offers a great driving experience. When shopping for a new RDX, many people will be choosing between the base RDX and the RDX Advance. Here's how these two trim levels compare to each other.

Performance

Both of these RDX trims come equipped with the same exhilarating powertrain. Motivating this SUV is a 2.0-liter, turbocharged i-VTEC four-cylinder engine. Acura tunes it to press out a satisfying 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. This powerful engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive comes standard, you can opt for a Super Handling AWD system.

Keep in mind that only the RDX Advance comes equipped with an Adaptive Damper System. This feature is designed to sharpen handling and further improve ride quality. At the touch of a button, you can adjust suspension stiffness.

Appearance

Even the base RDX will cause onlookers to take a second glance. Everyone will notice its sporty exterior styling. The SUV's front fascia definitely makes a powerful statement. It features a signature Diamond Pentagon grille and Jewel Eye headlamps with seven LED light elements. High-performance air intakes add more flair. In the rear, LED-illuminated Dragon Tail taillights add another cool touch. While the RDX Advance has a similar look, it adds unique 19-inch Shark Gray wheels and LED fog lights.

Features

The base RDX is upscale enough for most people. Creature comforts, such as dual-zone automatic climate control and heated sport seats with power lumbar, help ensure a relaxing drive. You will also be surrounded by modern technologies. Acura's True Touchpad Interface features a 10.2-inch HD display with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Other highlights include a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, a nine-speaker audio system, and AcuraWatch safety technologies.

Stepping up to the RDX Advance allows you to experience more luxury. While music fans will love the sound of the 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D audio system, upgraded 16-way front seats with ventilation and GPS-linked climate control bring enhanced comfort. A 10.5-inch head-up display, a surround-view camera system, heated rear seats, and Milano leather upholstery are just a few of the other niceties.
