Specs at a Glance

The new 2025 Acura MDX is one of today's most fulfilling three-row luxury SUVs. Drivers love its spacious seating, dynamic performance, and a long list of attractive features. When shopping for a new MDX, you'll have to decide which trim level suits you the best. Let's take a look at how the MDX Base compares to the MDX A-Spec Advance Package.

Performance

These two MDX trims offer a similar degree of performance. They are both motivated by a strong 3.5-liter V6 engine rated to push out 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. A swift-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission promotes quick acceleration.

While the MDX Base offers Acura's legendary Super Handling AWD system as an option, this feature comes standard on the MDX A-Spec Advance. Aside from enhancing traction and promoting sharper handling, this torque-vectoring AWD system also raises the SUV's maximum towing capacity to 5,000 pounds.

Appearance

Even the MDX Base has a striking appearance. Its sleek front fascia features Jewel Eye LED headlights. On the rear, darkened Chicane LED taillights add more flair. A stylish set of 19-inch alloy wheels also come standard. Five eye-catching paint colors are available, including Canyon River Blue Metallic and Lunar Silver Metallic.

The MDX A-Spec Advance has a more aggressive look. Its sport body kit and 20-inch Shark Gray wheels make a serious statement. Black exterior accents and LED fog lights further distinguish the A-Spec Advance Package. Exclusive paint colors, such as Performance Red Pearl and Apex Blue Pearl, are available as well.

Features

Great standard features make the MDX Base a popular choice. Its modern infotainment system boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Like tri-zone automatic climate control, nice creature comforts add to the base model's appeal. Other highlights include a 12.3-inch Precision Cockpit digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof.

The MDX A-Spec Advance brings more luxury. While ventilated front sport seats help you to unwind on hot days, a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system elevates your music-listening experience. Just a few of the other exclusive upgrades include GPS-linked climate control, a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, a hands-free power liftgate, and 27-color ambient LED cabin lighting.
