Specs at a Glance
The 2025 Acura MDX has arrived. Not only does the new model have an updated look, but it also excites tech lovers by introducing a new infotainment system. While the new MDX gives you multiple trims to choose from, some drivers will ultimately be deciding between A-Spec and Type S Advance trim levels. Here's an overview of how they compare.
Performance
The MDX A-Spec is motivated by a strong 3.5-liter V6 engine. It pumps out 290 horsepower, which is enough muscle to ensure a pleasing performance. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels. Acura's legendary Super Handling AWD system also comes standard.
Underneath the hood of the high-output MDX Type S Advance sits a 3.0-liter, turbocharged V6 engine. It elevates performance by producing a thrilling 355 horsepower. Acura equips this trim with an Active Exhaust Valve to give it an exciting growl. Meanwhile, an adaptive air suspension allows you to enjoy an especially great blend of ride comfort and athletic agility. Larger Brembo front brakes also come equipped on the MDX Type S Advance.
Appearance
When you check out the MDX A-Spec, you will quickly notice its sporty appearance. Acura outfits it with several racy exterior treatments, including 20-inch Shark Gray wheels. Blacked-out styling cues give the A-Spec trim more flair. Signature Jewel Eye LED headlights also come standard. Some of the available exterior colors include Canyon River Blue Metallic, Liquid Carbon Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.
The powerful MDX Type S Advance will turn just as many heads. It features an exclusive sport appearance kit, quad exhaust finishers, and 20-inch Berlina Black wheels.
Features
The MDX A-Spec has an upscale cabin. A flat-bottom steering wheel and stainless steel pedals give its cockpit an elevated sense of sportiness. Premium amenities, such as ventilated front seats and GPS-linked climate control, promote outstanding comfort on the road. A big tech feature is Acura's new infotainment system, which features a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Other highlights include a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, a panoramic sunroof, and AcuraWatch safety features.
The MDX Type S Advance has some high-end upgrades. Its 16-way front seats feature massage functions, allowing you to further destress. Other niceties include a 10.2-inch head-up display, a surround-view camera system, and quilted Milano leather seating surfaces.
