What's New For the 2022 Acura MDX?

The Acura MDX receives monumental changes for the 2022 model year with a redesigned exterior, interior, and added trim options. The latest model year joins Acura as the fourth-generation MDX. As a class-defining, three-row luxury SUV, the MDX offers a striking new design with a more extended, wider, and lower appearance. The interior is also newly elevated, exuding a premium feel and plenty of advanced technologies to match.

The latest MDX comes with a zippy V6 engine and all-wheel drive configuration for those who crave an agile and performance-oriented ride.

What Are the MDX Trims & Features?

There are four packages available: MDX, Technology, A-Spec and Advance, and there's a performance-oriented model, the Type S. Drivers of the all-new Acura MDX will experience an all-digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and an infotainment system featuring a full-HD, 12.3-inch center display with wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, Alexa and AcuraWatch.

There is an amazing array of other standard features, including a panoramic moonroof, voice recognition, heated front seats, Siri Eyes Free, a 9-speaker premium audio system, and wireless charging.

The Technology package adds navigation with a 3D view, a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic w/Street, and Freeway Conditions, sport seats with perforated soft-touch Milano premium leather interior, and 27-color ambient LED cabin lighting. You can get CabinTalk, a 16-speaker ELS 3D premium sound system, contrast stitching and piping, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom sport steering wheel, and metal footrest and pedals with the A-Spec package. The Advance adds 16-way power seats with power lumbar support, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power liftgate with hands-free access and walk away close.

Type S is outfitted with a 25-speaker Signature Edition ELS Studio 3D premium audio system, a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, and quilted leather seating.

2021 Acura MDX Powertrain Options

The standard engine on the MDX is a 3.5L with six cylinders. Equipped with this engine, the MDX is capable of 290 HP and almost 270 LB-FT of torque. This engine is connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission and your choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. There is a sporty variant, the Type S, that will be powered by a turbocharged 3.0L six-cylinder pumping 355 HP and 354 LB-FT of torque. This driver's machine features Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.
